about

A song retelling life’s journey- it’s joyous peaks and tragic canyons - of transitions - from wonder, to struggle, empowerment, great loss and the awakening of spirit vision

lyrics

When I was a young lad, innocent and glad,
I reached out for flowers, seeking hidden powers,
But nobody warned me that pain was woven into clothes,
Nobody told me that medicine was hidden in the rose
And it would take me, over the hills and far away
Down to the beach where the children play
then let me build in the sand making castle walls
and tall glass towers where princesses call- oooooo.
When I became a working man, vigorous and bold,
I reached out on every hand, trusting every soul,
But nobody warned me that pain was woven into clothes,
Nobody told me that medicine was hidden in the rose
And it would take me, over the hills and far inside
Down to the depths where the mysteries hide,
It let me rebuild my soul when my world had crumbled
And re-opened the tomb when everything was jumble-ooooo.
But now I feel young again, wiser and strong in flame,
I still care for the flowers, distilling their powers
And I warn everyone that pain is woven into clothes
And I tell everyone that medicine is hidden in the rose.
